The Most Notorious Musical Instrument
The guitar, an integral part of modern music around the world, is classified as a chordophone, traditionally made from wood. It is a fretted musical instrument with six strings that are played by plucking or strumming by the musician, releasing a unique sound pleasing to ears and near to the soul.
Getting to Know Guitar
There are two main types of guitars, acoustics, and electric, with further subcategories. It has many parts, a headstock at one end that adjusts the tension of the string and a neck that holds the guitar’s frets, fretboards, tuners, and more, a truss road, inlays, and a body.
The Chronicles of Guitar
The history of the guitar can be traced back to the Babylonian era where it is said to have originated. Many different shapes and forms of guitars have been found belonging to the different eras in different regions, baroque guitar in Spain in 1200 or the vihuela in Italy in the 15th and 16th century. Modern guitar came into being circa 1850 in Spain.
